The Shipping Gap
Is Widening.

Every quarter your team spends in discovery slides, another team is shipping the next iteration into production. The window to be early is closing, and the stack to close it isn't optional anymore.

01 · The Architect

Phil G., NN/g Certified UX Master.

I design and build the product.

I'm a Certified UX Master by NN/g, with 17+ years driving transformation for the Fortune 500: Walmart, VMware, Pivotal Labs, Microsoft, SAP, Cemex, and more. At Kuoni Tumlare I hired six designers and manage a twelve-person team in Prague and led the creation of a AI-ready design system.

I'm a product builder who leads with design: discovery that turns user research into board-room outcomes, and design leadership that builds high-performing teams. I treat AI as a force multiplier, wired into my daily craft. I run research, design UI in Figma, and build functional prototypes with AI-assisted code gen to experiment.

02 · The Enterprise Advantage

Companies hire me to ship the actual product, at extreme velocity, without compromising quality.

Product Discovery → AI-Native Prototype

I lead end-to-end discovery: customer interviews, journey mapping, jobs-to-be-done. Then I build functional prototypes with AI-assisted code generation to experiment with ideas.

Design Leadership at Scale

I hire, coach, and lead design teams that ship, not just design. Across continents and time zones. At Kuoni Tumlare I hired six UX designers and manage a twelve-person team. I've mentored 1,050+ designers who got hired by hundreds of firms, including Meta, Booking, Uber, IBM, Accenture, SAP, and others.

Phil was instrumental in helping us develop our design practice. He set a high bar for what quality and effective product design looks like.

06 · Selected Work · Case Studies

5 highlights.
17+ years of what actually shipped.

A small, high-signal selection from a much longer career. Each one shows the real brief, the constraint that mattered, the call I made, and the number that moved — from CEMEX Go capturing 20% of worldwide sales in year one, to voice-to-shop and text-to-shop live at Walmart, to the first research practice built from zero at OpenSC.
No mockups. No theory. Only shipped work.

07 · The AI Lab

From prompt to production. Not from prompt to demo.

I don't talk about AI. I ship with it. Here's the actual stack I use to compress quarters into days for Fortune 500 teams.

ACCELERATION

Custom GPTs

Trained on enterprise context and brand voice. I use them to speed up documentation, draft research artifacts, and synthesize learnings across long projects.

RESEARCH

AI Agents

Custom-built per engagement and tailored to the project's needs. I shape each agent to absorb whatever repeatable work is slowing the team down. Different shape every time.

PROTOTYPING

Generative Prototyping

From prompt to clickable React prototype. Real production-quality components grounded in design tokens. Not static mocks, not Figma-only screens. I build real, working features into the prototype that's close to final software, so developers can pick it up and build directly on top.

SYSTEMS

AI-Ready Design Systems

Token architectures and component contracts that scale across squads, designers, and LLMs in parallel. Shipped at Kuoni Tumlare for 12 designers.

Outcomes, not optics.

Decks don't ship.

08 · How I Work

From kickoff to shipped product.
In four steps.

No 90-day onboarding. No 12-person agency team.
Just me, one senior product builder embedded with your squad, designing and shipping the actual product.

01Step

Discover

User research, customer interviews, jobs-to-be-done, journey mapping. You leave with a discovery readout your leadership team can act on.

02Step

Prototype

AI-native rapid prototyping. Custom GPTs, generative UI, and real React components grounded in your design tokens. Not a deck. A clickable product.

03Step

Iterate

Embedded with your team. Weekly sprints, working sessions, design reviews. Roadmap decisions backed by real user data, not guesswork.

04Step

Ship

Production-ready React + Tailwind in your repo. AI-ready design system. Engineers use what I deliver because it was built to be used, not handed off.

Want to talk through whether this fits your team?

Let's walk through your context on a 30-min call.

09 · Common Questions

Questions enterprise leaders ask. Answers before the call.

Q01

You design AND ship code. How does that actually work?

Two outputs every sprint: Figma source of truth + production React/Tailwind committed to your repo. Same person, same week. No design handoff friction. Engineers don't rebuild what I deliver; they extend it.

Q02

Solo operator. What if my engineering org is 50 people?

I embed inside larger teams. At SAP I worked alongside four engineering squads; at Cemex I led design embedded with multiple squads across two regions. The constraint isn't team size, it's how design integrates with delivery.

Q03

What's the actual AI tooling you use?

Claude Code, Codex, Grok and Gemini on the engineering side. Custom GPTs that speed up documentation and synthesize learnings across long projects. AI agents shaped per engagement to absorb whatever repeatable work is slowing the team. Generative prototyping that produces real working React features, grounded in an AI-ready design system so the prototypes stay production-shaped. Section 09, The AI Lab, has the full breakdown.

Q04

Can you lead my existing design team?

Yes. Most engagements have me leading or coaching the team you already have, not replacing it. At Kuoni Tumlare I hired six designers and led a twelve-person team in Prague. At Walmart I coached a designer and a product manager while leading product discovery on the stream.

Q05

Discovery sprint, prototype sprint, or full engagement?

Any of the three. A 3-week paid discovery sprint is the typical entry. A 6-week prototype sprint follows. Up to 12 months of embedded design leadership is the deepest. Same operator across all three.

Q06

Where are you based? What timezones do you cover?

Prague (CET / CEST). I've worked synchronously with teams across the US (east + west coast), Asia, Europe, and India. When needed I shift my working hours fully, as I did for Walmart on NY hours.

Q07

Enterprise procurement. NDA ready?

All standard. Walmart, VMware, Pivotal Labs, Microsoft, SAP, Cemex, Vodafone, Royal Air Force, and Kuoni Tumlare have all signed off. Happy to sign yours when required. Vendor onboarding usually takes 1-2 weeks.

Q08

What does this cost?

Project-based or daily rate, typically $70-$90/hr depending on the engagement length. I share concrete options after a 30-min intro once I understand your scope, timeline, and team setup.

Got a question that's not here?

Let's talk it through on a 30-min call.

10 · Anti-Pattern

Things I don't do. So we can move.

  • No 90-day onboarding.
  • No 12-person agency team.
  • No "discovery decks".
  • No design handoff friction.
  • No buzzword roadmaps.
  • No invoicing for slide decks.
  • No PM managing the PM managing the PM.
